Biography

Crystal earned her PhD from the University of Alberta in 2006, focusing on neuroprotective strategies for hemorrhagic stroke. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2009, where she explored the effects of stem cell transplantation on rehabilitation and stroke recovery. In 2012, she obtained her MScPT from the University of Alberta and has since worked in acute care and private practice settings. Crystal has a special interest in neurological rehabilitation for both adults and pediatrics, and she joined the Department of Physical Therapy as a full-time instructor in 2017. Her teaching interests include neurology, neuroscience, human movement, and clinical supervision.
