Dr. Cuilin Zhang

Biography

Cuilin Zhang is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and has played pivotal roles in various prestigious institutions. She is a chaired professor in Women's Health at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the founding Director of the Global Centre for Asian Women's Health. Dr. Zhang has an extensive background in epidemiology, previously serving as a Senior Investigator and interim Chief of the Epidemiology Branch at the NICHD, NIH, USA from 2007 to 2021. Her work integrates clinical epidemiology with nutrition, biochemistry, genetics, and public health, particularly focusing on disease prevention strategies in women's and children's health across their lifespans. Dr. Zhang's current research priorities include studying the nutritional and metabolic/genetic determinants of obesity, gestational diabetes, and related comorbidities. She has led several large cohort studies and has published extensively in top journals, holding editorial positions on Diabetes Care and American Journal of Epidemiology. Additionally, she actively advises numerous health research networks and committees.
