Biography

Curtis Craig is a distinguished Professor of Sound Design in the College of Arts & Architecture. He previously served as Sound Designer at Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University. His regional design credits include positions as Resident Sound Designer for the Dallas Theater Center and guest designs for prominent theaters such as the Denver Center Theatre, Seattle Rep, and the Classical Theatre Harlem. Craig has been involved in numerous prestigious projects, including the Silver Medal in Sound Design at the World Stage Design in Taipei in 2017 for his composition work with the Denver Center Theatre Company. His accolades include the Gold Medal in Sound Design at the World Stage Design 2009 in Seoul for his contributions to 'Pentecost,' and a nomination for the Barrymore Award for his outstanding sound design in 'Skeleton Crew.' He is a member of several professional organizations including the Audio Engineering Society and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. In addition, his recording work features in the Grammy-nominated contemporary music ensemble Voices Change and accompanies scholarly publications.
