Dr. Cyntha Struthers

Biography

Cyntha Struthers is an Associate Professor Emerita in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo. She has made significant contributions to the field of statistics, particularly in methods for modeling continuous-time longitudinal data with subject missingness. Struthers has published numerous scholarly articles, including influential works on estimation and regression parameters in the context of missing data problems. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD, all obtained from the University of Waterloo, where she has also been a dedicated faculty member. Over the years, she has engaged in research that intersects statistics with social issues, exemplified by her work on predicting lung cancer mortality and challenges in child-care needs in Canada.
