Cynthia Andoniadou established her research group at King's College London in 2013, following her doctoral research at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research and postdoctoral research at Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, UCL. Her discovery research program focuses on endocrine stem cells, particularly those in the pituitary and adrenal glands. This research combines molecular, -omic, and genetic approaches to investigate the roles of these cells in development, homeostasis, and disease. This work aims to lead to the generation of new disease models and regenerative approaches in endocrine disorders. Professor Andoniadou is actively engaged in the endocrine developmental biology communities, currently serving as an Executive Committee member of the European Society of Endocrinology and as the Congress Committee Chair for the European Congress of Endocrinology. She is also a co-founder of the European Women in Endocrinology (EUWIN) network and a past recipient of the Starling Medal awarded by the Society of Endocrinology in 2022, as well as the Lister Institute Research Prize in 2016. Her research output includes significant contributions to journals in the field of endocrinology, emphasizing the role of pituitary stem cells and hormonal expression in various physiological processes.
