Biography

French violist Cynthia Blanchon divides her time between North America and Europe, dedicating herself to various artistic projects. Since 2023, Cynthia has been a viola professor at the Université de Montréal and is a passionate chamber musician. As a member of the Myriade Quartet, she has been performing at numerous concerts this season. Cynthia has been invited to many festivals such as the Colorado Music Festival, Classica Festival, and Musical Encounters of Haute-Provence, collaborating with renowned artists including Jan Talich and Scott St. John. An experienced orchestral musician, she served as solo violist for the Orchestre de l'Agora for six years and has performed with prestigious organizations like the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra. Cynthia began her musical journey at age 16 at CNSM Lyon, later refining her skills at the Colburn School in Los Angeles. Additionally, she has taught at Music Port Milford and CAMMAC Festival, and coached local youth orchestras. A recipient of multiple national competition awards, she won the Mécénat Musical Société Générale competition in 2015.
