Biography

Cynthia D. Connelly is a Professor and Director of Nursing Research at the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego. Her research focuses on prevention science and early interventions for populations experiencing health disparities. She aims to evoke individual, family, and community social change through her work. Dr. Connelly has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for studies aimed at addressing physical and mental health issues affecting women and families, substance abuse, violence, perinatal mental health, and health inequities. Her commitment to mentoring junior faculty and doctoral students aims to build research capacity and promote team science in nursing research. Dr. Connelly holds a PhD from the University of Rhode Island and has completed her postdoctoral work at the University of Washington, Seattle, supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and other institutes.
