Dr. Cynthia Courtois

Biography

Cynthia Courtois is an Associate Professor at Université Laval's School of Accounting, specializing in accounting research. She has a Doctorate in Accounting from Laval University and an MBA in Accounting from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Her research interests encompass various aspects of accounting including Audit, Ethics in Accounting, and Organizational Management. Additionally, she explores topics such as private policing and organizational fraud management, focusing on causes and crime prevention strategies. Courtois is active in professional activities, serving as a reviewer for credible academic journals such as Accounting Horizons and has been involved with various committees at her university. She has made significant contributions to pedagogical innovation within her department and has received multiple awards for her excellence in teaching, including the Socrate Award and the Prix de la ministre en enseignement supérieur.
