Dr. Cynthia Rollo Carlson

Biography

Cynthia Rollo-Carlson joined the University of Southern California (USC) in 2012 as an adjunct assistant professor and became a full-time senior lecturer in 2016. She teaches foundational courses in Human Behavior and Social Environment and Integrative Social Work Practice. Her expertise includes areas such as grief, loss, and bereavement in social work, as well as substance use and behavioral addictive disorders. Rollo-Carlson's educational background includes a Master of Arts from Bemidji State University in 2004, a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1985, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Southern Illinois University in 1983. Her areas of interest encompass mental health, trauma, and the integration of religion and spirituality in social work practice. Rollo-Carlson is also knowledgeable in trauma-informed care, wellness, and addiction intervention and treatment. She is dedicated to addressing the needs of neurodiverse populations and has a strong commitment to social services and health education.
