Cyril Chelle-Michou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at ETH Zurich since December 2018. He obtained a double diploma in Geological Engineering from the National School of Geology of Nancy (ENSG), France, and a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences from Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, in 2008. After a brief involvement with Swedish New Caledonian mineral industries, he completed his PhD in Earth Science at the University of Geneva in 2013. Between 2014 and 2018, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Geneva, University Jean Monnet in Saint-Etienne, France, and the University of Bristol in the UK. His research focuses on the study of mineral resources, employing a cross-disciplinary approach that integrates methods and concepts from economic geology, geochronology, petrology, geochemistry, and tectonics to understand the processes that shape the planet and generate natural resources. The main objectives of his research group include quantifying the geological processes controlling mineral deposits, assessing magmatic-hydrothermal fluxes, and developing new exploration methods.
The GRE is mandatory for students who did not obtain their Bachelor's degree in an EU/EFTA state. Some departments (e.g., Computer Science) have specific ECTS credit requirements in core subjects.
