Biography

Cyrus Kapadia, MD, is a Professor Emeritus in Digestive Diseases at Yale University School of Medicine. He obtained his Medical Education at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, graduating with an M.B.B.S. degree in 1965 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine, obtaining an M.D. in 1969. He began his career at Yale in 1974, training in Gastroenterology, and rose to the rank of Professor of Medicine in 1992. Throughout his career, he has also held various leadership roles including Associate Chief of Digestive Diseases and Program Director for the Traditional Internal Medicine Program. His research interests span bile acid metabolism, gastrointestinal diseases, and advanced diagnostic techniques in gastroenterology. Since his retirement in 2016, he continues to contribute as a Course Director for the Gastroenterology and Hepatology course. Kapadia has been recognized with numerous teaching and academic awards, underscoring his commitment to medical education and excellence in teaching. His dedication is reflected in the Honors he has received, including the Alvan R. Feinstein Teaching Award and the George Thornton Award for contributions to medical education.
