Biography

Da Pan earned his B.S. from Peking University and received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University, where he focused on instrument development for field observations of air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Upon completing his Ph.D., he joined the Department of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University as a postdoctoral researcher and later became a research scientist. His work at Colorado State involved studying nitrogen deposition and emissions of volatile organic compounds in relation to unconventional oil and gas development. Da Pan's research has been widely recognized, with publications in prestigious journals such as Nature Geosciences, Nature Communications, Environmental Science & Technology, and Global Change Biology. His research interests include trace gas sensing technologies, stationary and mobile observations of greenhouse gases and air pollutants, and modeling land-atmosphere interactions.
