Biography

Dabao Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Statistics at Purdue University. He received his B.S. in Mathematical Statistics from Nankai University in 1990, and later obtained two M.S. degrees: one in Probability Statistics from Peking University in 1993 and another in Statistical Science from Cornell University in 2001. He completed his Ph.D. in Statistical Science at Cornell University in 2003. His research interests encompass a variety of fields, particularly Bayesian methods, bioinformatics, and statistical genetics. He is well-regarded for his work in computational methods, statistical inference, and machine learning, and has made significant contributions to areas such as genomics and data mining. Throughout his career, Dr. Zhang has received multiple awards for his research, including the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2009 and the College of Science Interdisciplinary Award in February 2009. He actively supervises Ph.D. students in his department and collaborates with other faculty members on joint research projects.
