Dr. Dafydd Davies

Biography

Dafydd Davies, MD, MPhil, FRCSC, is an Associate Professor at Dalhousie University, specializing in Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from Dalhousie Medical School and a Master of Philosophy in Epidemiology from Cambridge University. His extensive training includes a residency in General Surgery at Dalhousie and fellowships in Pediatric Trauma and Pediatric Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children affiliated with the University of Toronto. Dr. Davies is actively involved in medical education, leading initiatives in competency-based medical education and serving as the Chief of Surgery at IWK Health. His research interests focus on bariatric surgery in adolescents, pediatric trauma prevention, and the evaluation and management of trauma. He has contributed significantly to the field of surgical education and health administration at both local and national levels.
