Professor Hartman’s nursing journey began with a passion for patient care, evolving from Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and ultimately Registered Nurse (RN). With experience in diverse healthcare settings, medical-surgical, office nursing, hospice, and long-term care, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to further her knowledge and leadership skills. Driven by a desire to empower future healthcare professionals, she obtained certifications as a CNA and Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) instructor in the state of Indiana. Witnessing student growth and development in the learning environment fueled her passion for nursing education. She is an Indiana State Tester for CNA certifications and continues research related to Nursing Education Simulation and Diabetes Care Management for the elder population. Currently, Professor Hartman holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and maintains her RN license in Indiana. In addition to her instructor certifications for CNA and QMA programs, she is also a certified American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor. Furthermore, she is actively pursuing certification as a nurse educator, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Outside of academics, Professor Hartman finds personal fulfillment in hiking and travel, aiming to explore all 50 states and expand her international experiences.
