Dr. Daiva Daukantaité

Biography

Daiva Daukantaité is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Lund University. Her work primarily focuses on advanced-level courses in statistical methodology and health psychology. She has extensive experience leading longitudinal research projects addressing mental health issues, with a particular emphasis on youth mental health. Dr. Daukantaité is the principal investigator of the long-term Self-Injury Life Situation (SoL) Project, a FORTE-funded study that examines non-suicidal self-injury, eating disorders, and their associations with aggression and victimization. This project began data collection in 2007, allowing for continuous follow-ups at multiple intervals to analyze mental health trends. Additionally, she leads the Wellbeing School Environment (WiSE) Project, collaborating with experts on improving mental health through educational initiatives. Dr. Daukantaité has also been involved in various collaborations investigating interventions for individuals with borderline personality disorder and self-harming behaviors. She is dedicated to contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and is an advocate for improved mental health outcomes through research and education.
