Biography

Damian Valdez studied history at the University of Cambridge, where he obtained his BA with honors. He completed his MPhil and PhD in German intellectual history in 2009. Valdez has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Klassik Stiftung Weimar and has published extensively on the history of ideas in Germany, including his notable book 'German Philhellenism' published in 2014 by Palgrave Macmillan. He specializes in modern political thought and supervises MPhil and undergraduate research in modern European political intellectual history. His current research is focused on revolutionary movements from the left and right in Europe between 1900 and 1945, aiming to understand attempts to remake the world order. Additionally, he is a Distinguished Fellow at the International Order at the UK Council on Geostrategy.
