Biography

D.C. Bélanger is an Associate Professor of Canadian history at the University of Ottawa. He earned his Ph.D. from McGill University in 2006 and has a Master's degree from Université de Montréal. D.C. Bélanger’s research interests encompass the intellectual history of Quebec and the history of Canadian-American relations. He is a co-founder of 'Mens: revue d’histoire intellectuelle et culturelle' and has authored significant works including 'Prejudice and Pride: Canadian Intellectuals Confront the United States, 1891-1945' published by University of Toronto Press in 2011, and 'Thomas Chapais, historien' released in 2018. His work examines themes of loyalty and the Catholic hierarchy in Quebec, as well as the intellectual movements within French Canada. He teaches survey and upper-level courses on these subjects and has received the University of Ottawa’s Excellence in Education Prize.
