Biography

Damien Huffer is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of History, with a research focus on the complexities of the global Southeast Asian antiquities trade and human remains trafficking. He has a strong academic background, having served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Osteoarchaeological Research Laboratory in the Department of Archaeology & Classical Studies at Stockholm University from 2017 to 2019. He was previously awarded the Stable Isotope Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Smithsonian’s Museum Conservation Institute/Division of Anthropology from 2014 to 2016. Passionate about raising public awareness regarding the ongoing threats to humanity’s shared heritage, Damien actively engages in collaborative research that highlights these significant issues. His work aims to contribute to a greater understanding of the cultural and historical implications surrounding heritage conservation.
