Biography

Dr. Damon Dagnone is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Queen's University. He serves as the Special Assistant Associate Dean for Competency-Based Medical Education and is the Faculty Lead for Postgraduate Medical Education. Dr. Dagnone is also a team physician for the Kingston General Hospital. He has led numerous initiatives in medical education and currently directs the Medical Education Fellowship Program. He chairs the residency program's Competence Committee and co-leads the Humanity Healthcare inter-professional series. His main research interests include competency-based medical education, simulation-based assessment, and the medical humanities. In 2018, he published a book titled “Finding Our Way Home: A Family’s Story of Life, Love, and Loss,” which reflects on losing his son to cancer during his residency training. Dr. Dagnone enjoys participating in outdoor exercise and spending time with family at their home and cottage.
