Dr. Damon Williams

Biography

Damon P. Williams is the inaugural Associate Dean of Outreach Engagement and a Senior Lecturer at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Williams began his academic career as a faculty member at ISyE, where he taught courses in applied probability and operations analysis. His research interests focus on mathematical modeling, stochastic processes, and applications aimed at reducing variability in engineering systems. Known as an award-winning educator, he has a reputation for effectively translating abstract theoretical concepts into real-world engineering applications, which has earned him widespread recognition among students and colleagues. As the founding director of the Center for Academics, Success, and Engagement (CASE), Dr. Williams has implemented various programs to support the holistic development of the ISyE community, including mentoring tracks for doctoral students and tutoring services for undergraduates. His leadership initiatives have substantially enhanced Georgia Tech's national and global reputation in engineering education.
