Biography

Dan completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Otago and earned his PhD in Chemistry. He received the Rutherford Postdoctoral Fellowship to conduct independent research under the mentorship of Paul Kruger at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He later joined the Australian National University as a DECRA Fellow. Dan's interests lie in supramolecular chemistry, focusing on the formation of structurally, functionally, and behaviorally complex architectures involving metal ions and organic ligands. He enjoys studying chemistry in solution and working with discrete systems. Outside of his research, Dan is passionate about reading, writing fiction, drawing, solving cryptic crosswords, and engaging with sports.
