Returning to academia in recent years, Dan Wilson enjoyed an extensive career as a corporate lawyer, senior business executive, and serial entrepreneur. He previously served as a law clerk for G.V. La Forest at the Supreme Court of Canada, worked as an associate at a national law firm, and was a partner at a Calgary-based corporate law boutique. Dan has been the President of junior public technology companies and held executive roles in various multinational businesses, co-founding several start-up ventures. His international business and legal career include traveling over three million miles across more than 80 countries. In addition to his business activities, Dan has served in a number of pro bono capacities for not-for-profit organizations in Alberta and abroad. He spent fifteen years as Chairman of the Global Compassion Campaign at CrossRoads Church, focusing on funding community development initiatives in partnership with organizations in Rwanda, Haiti, Uganda, and Sudan. Currently, Dan serves as the Director for Haiti Arise’s Bureau d' Assistance Judiciaire in Petit Goave, Haiti, providing legal counsel to incarcerated individuals. Furthermore, he coordinates support for schools for blind and deaf students in Rwanda. Dan is married to Dr. Marci Wilson and is a father to teenage sons, Eli and Seth. He focuses primarily on teaching, research, and administrative obligations in academia while continuing to advise select start-up and growth-stage companies on business transactional legal issues.
