Biography

Dan Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Special Education at Texas A&M University, and currently serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Director of the Center for Disability Development. His research focuses on assisting youth with disabilities in making successful transitions from high school to adulthood. Over his career, he has secured over $36 million in external funding for research, teaching, and demonstration projects. With more than 86 publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and reports, Dr. Zhang has also given approximately 100 keynote presentations at both national and international levels. He has held various leadership positions including Chair of the Special Education Program and has been actively involved with several professional organizations such as the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and the Division on Career Development and Transition. In addition, he has served on editorial boards for multiple academic journals and has contributed significantly to the field of special education through his extensive research and active participation in conferences and community initiatives.
