Dr. Dana Galizia

Biography

Dana Galizia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Carleton University. She holds a B.A. from Western University, an M.A. from McGill University, and a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia. Her research primarily focuses on macroeconomics and business cycles, where she investigates causes of business cycles, nonlinear models, macro-econometrics, and quantitative methods. One of her significant works is the paper 'Putting Cycle Back Business Cycle Analysis,' published in the American Economic Review in 2020, which she co-authored with Paul Beaudry and Franck Portier. Her expertise encompasses developing and analyzing complex economic models that enhance our understanding of cyclical fluctuations in the economy. Over the past six years, she has made substantial contributions to the field through her refereed publications, earning recognition for her work in macroeconomic analysis.
