Biography

Dana Isac is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics and Modern Languages at Concordia University. His current research focuses on the syntactic and semantic properties of major clause types, including Declaratives, Interrogatives, Imperatives, and Exclamatives. In 2008, he published 'I-language: Introduction to Linguistics and Cognitive Science' with colleague Charles Reiss through Oxford University Press. Isac is currently working on a new monograph entitled 'Morphosyntactic Ingredients of Force.' His academic contributions also include various papers on topics such as the semantic nature of determiners and the movement chains in interfaces. Isac has served as Principal Investigator for research groups, including FQRSC's Dynamic Interfaces from 2010 to 2014, and has received individual research grants for his innovative work in the field of linguistics.
