Dr. Dana Peters

Biography

Dana C. Peters is a Professor in Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine, primarily focusing on cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). With a PhD in Physics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, he has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in improving detection of heart diseases through advanced imaging techniques. Peters' early training involved postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health, where he specialized in cardiac energetics, and he previously served as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. His expertise spans across various aspects of cardiovascular MR, including the development of new MRI tools for evaluation of cardiac function, strain, flow, and pressure, particularly emphasizing conditions like atrial fibrillation and diastolic dysfunction.
