Dr. Dana Tschannen

Biography

Dana Tschannen, Ph.D., RN is a Clinical Professor and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She specializes in evidence-based practice and quality improvement methodologies. Tschannen has conducted significant research focusing on frontline nurse engagement, team training, and nurse sensitive indicators such as pressure injury prevention and falls. Her work maintains a robust partnership with Nurse Administration at Michigan Medicine, where she has contributed to quality improvement processes directly impacting patient care. Dr. Tschannen has also played a critical role in teaching and mentoring students at various academic levels, creating inclusive learning environments that encourage open communication and innovative thinking. As an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, she has received numerous awards for her contributions to nursing education and practice.
