Biography

Dani Brittain is the Dean of the College of Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research focuses on developing theoretically driven interventions that target social behavior change processes to aid self-management and maintenance of physical activity. She is particularly interested in identifying the social-psychological factors that impact adherence to physical activity among marginalized populations, including women such as adult lesbians and those dealing with non-cancer chronic pain. Brittain's work also involves co-designing and testing self-regulatory skills combined with physical activity interventions, which aim to improve implementation outcomes and impacts on physical activity, pain management, and opioid use for Saskatchewan adults living with chronic pain. Furthermore, she is involved in developing the implementation of a rural public health certificate program for medical students, contributing significantly to both academic and practical fields in Kinesiology.
