Biography

Daniel Bainbridge completed his medical school and anesthesia residency program at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and followed with a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He started working at the London Health Sciences Centre and is currently the Director of the Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) program. Over the past ten years, he has held various leadership roles, including Coordinator of the Cardiac Fellowship Program and Director of the Cardiac Anesthesia program. Bainbridge has also served in prominent roles within the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society, including as Annual Meeting Chair and Society President. He currently directs the Cardiac Surgical Recovery Unit and focuses his research on optimizing port placement in robotic cardiac surgery and developing virtual reality interventions for perioperative outcomes. His research interests also include evidence-based outcomes in robotic and minimally invasive cardiac surgery and utilizing ultrasound and virtual reality guidance for cardiac procedures.
