Biography

Daniel Berliner joined the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2017. He previously held positions as an Assistant Professor at the School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University, and at the Department of Political Science at the University of Minnesota. Berliner completed his Ph.D. at the University of Washington in 2012. His primary research focuses on the role of information in politics and governance, including the impacts of information on voter and bureaucratic behavior, as well as politics surrounding transparency, accountability, and participation reforms. He conducts these studies in a global context, particularly emphasizing Mexico, South Africa, and the United States. His research has been published in prominent journals such as the American Political Science Review, Journal of Politics, British Journal of Political Science, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, and World Development.
