Biography

Daniel Berliner is a Professor in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science, having joined in 2017. He previously served as Assistant Professor in the School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University and in the Department of Political Science at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, he was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Freie Universität Berlin. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 2012. His primary research interests revolve around information politics and governance, exploring how information impacts voter bureaucratic behavior, as well as issues of transparency, accountability, and participation reforms. Berliner studies these themes through both qualitative and quantitative methods across various contexts including Mexico, South Africa, and the United States. His research has been published in prominent journals such as the American Political Science Review, Journal of Politics, British Journal of Political Science, and World Development.
