Biography

Daniel Borsuk is an Associate Professor of surgery specializing in pediatric and adult cranio-maxillofacial surgery as well as plastic surgery at the University of Montreal's Sainte-Justine Hospital and Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. He obtained his B.Sc., MBA, and M.D. degrees from McGill University before pursuing his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Montreal. He further completed his subspecialty training in cranio-maxillofacial surgery and adult and pediatric microsurgery at Johns Hopkins University and the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Borsuk is known for performing the first complete face transplant in Canada and has been recognized with numerous awards for his contributions to the field, including the President’s Medal from the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Scientific Personality of the Year by La Presse. His clinical work emphasizes innovative surgical techniques, particularly in facial reconstruction using advanced technologies such as 3D modeling and printing to improve patient outcomes.
