Biography

Daniel Clayton Braxton is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering, specializing in the Engineering Graduate Professional Programs. He serves as the Program Director and heads the largest corporate design team in the world, overseeing a team of 15 professionals across multiple design disciplines. His work spans six strategic products, including UX/UI Design, Visual Design, Strategy, Front End Design, Content Design, and User Research. His portfolio includes major initiatives at IBM, such as IBM Watson Orchestrate, IBM Cloud Pak Network Automation, and IBM Hybrid Cloud Mesh. Since joining IBM Design as one of the founding members in 2013, Daniel has played a key role in directing product teams and applying design practices to a community of 2500 designers over a decade. Daniel holds dual B.A. degrees from North Carolina State University and East Carolina University, awarded in 2007 and 2013 respectively. He has also gained recognition through various awards, including the Top Managers Recognition Award from IBM in 2021 and the Red Dot Award for Product Design in 2019. Additionally, he has trained as a Design Thinking Coach at IBM since 2017.
