Biography

Daniel Norbert Congreve is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. He completed his B.S. and M.S. at Iowa State University in Electrical Engineering in 2010 and 2011, respectively. His doctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received his PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2015, involved research on photonic energy conversion through singlet fission and triplet fusion processes. Following his doctorate, he engaged in a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT in the Chemical Engineering department, focusing on perovskite nanoplatelet studies. Since joining Stanford University in 2020, Dan has garnered several accolades, including being named an Intel Rising Star in 2023, a Sloan Research Fellow in 2022, and a Moore Inventor Fellow in 2019. He is also a co-founder of Quadratic3D, a startup aimed at advancing 3D printing technologies. His current research interests revolve around engineering nanomaterials to tackle significant challenges in various applications.
