Dr. Daniel David

Biography

Daniel David is an Assistant Professor at the Rory Meyers College of Nursing at New York University specializing in geriatrics and palliative care. His research focuses on developing feasible, effective interventions for under-resourced older adults and their care partners, particularly those at risk of needing nursing home placement. David's work addresses the social and emotional needs of low-income residents in Medicaid-supported assisted living facilities. He initiated the 'Someone Talk To' program, which pairs residents with community health workers to facilitate serious illness conversations. His research has gained national recognition, including a Silver Medal from the Center Advance Palliative Care and an award from the Gerontological Society of America. He has served as an editorial board member for the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society and is actively involved in numerous research initiatives, including studies funded by the National Institutes of Health. David holds a PhD from Northeastern University, a BSN from the University of Virginia, and an MS from the University of Colorado. His contributions to nursing and palliative care research have been recognized with multiple awards throughout his career.
