Biography

Daniel Doiron teaches in the areas of Management Information Systems, New Venture Development, Small Business Management, Competitive Strategy, and Managing Innovation at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Known for his innovative teaching methods, he has authored and published several business cases. He received the Faculty of Business Departmental Award for Teaching Excellence in 2015. Daniel served as the Director of the Electronic Commerce Research and Training Centre and has helped to found four technology start-ups. The latest is focused on providing a GIS-based Marine Electronics solution for the global in-shore fisheries market. He began his career in the telecommunications industry in 1984 after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. He later obtained a Master's Degree in the Management of Technology from the Sloan School of Management at MIT in 1991. Daniel currently resides in Saint John, Canada, with his wife and three young boys.
