Biography

Daniel Druhora is a filmmaker, writer, and educator working at the intersection of immersive storytelling and humanitarian innovation. At USC Viterbi, he teaches Innovation Engineering Design for Global Crises, a hands-on course that empowers students to solve real-world problems through interdisciplinary collaboration. He advises student teams in developing social impact startups and helps engineers and scientists integrate storytelling into their research and product development efforts, thereby building empathy and a broader public understanding of complex issues. Daniel is the Resident Filmmaker at USC's ReWater Center, where he documents future water reuse and climate resilience initiatives. He created 'Flowing Forward', a documentary series exploring the future of water infrastructure in the U.S., and directed 'Cloudwalkers', a feature documentary on pioneers in internet artificial intelligence. His films have been broadcast on PBS, ARTE, and ARD, earning him an Emmy Award. As a co-founder of Safe Passage Films UK and founder of AgRenova, a biotech startup focused on sustainable agriculture in Europe, Daniel also created 'Escape Velocity', a podcast that uncovers human stories behind scientific and engineering breakthroughs.
