Biography

Daniel Du Pont, MD, MBE is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Penn Medicine. He serves as the Associate Program Director for the EMS Fellowship. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University, where he also volunteered as an EMT for the local fire department. He attended the University of Pennsylvania for his medical education and also earned a Master's in Bioethics. After finishing his residence in emergency medicine, he joined Cooper University Hospital for a fellowship in EMS and Disaster Medicine. Upon completion, he rejoined the emergency medicine team at Penn, attending at Pennsylvania Hospital and Penn Presbyterian Hospitals. Dr. Du Pont has numerous publications focusing on EMS ethics, cardiac arrest care, and disaster medicine. Some notable works include an observational study of hospital responses during the COVID-19 pandemic and investigations into ambulance charters during crisis situations. He is actively involved in prehospital care and has been practicing since 2011. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis, hiking, board games, and cheering for the Phillies.
