Dr. Daniel Gottlieb

Biography

Professor Daniel Gottlieb joined the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2019. His research interests center around contract theory and behavioral economics, with a specific emphasis on their application in insurance markets. He employs a blend of theoretical frameworks and empirical data drawn from field and laboratory experiments, as well as observational studies. His work has been published in notable academic journals such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, and Review of Financial Studies. In addition to his role at LSE, he has held positions at Washington University’s Olin School of Business and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and has served as a visiting researcher at Harvard University and Princeton University. Professor Gottlieb obtained his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2009, and he hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
