Biography

Dr. Daniel Alejandro Hashimoto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. He graduated with a degree in Biology/Neuroscience from Boston University, completed his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, and underwent general surgery training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He is also dedicated to advancing surgical practices through technological integration and is the Director of the Penn Computer Assisted Surgery Outcomes (PCASO) Laboratory, where he oversees research that employs artificial intelligence and computer vision to enhance surgical decision-making. He has authored 60 publications in esteemed journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and Nature Biotechnology. He is committed to providing patient-centered care and improving surgical outcomes through innovation.
