Biography

Dr. Daniel Curtis Herman is an Associate Professor and Director of PMR Sports Medicine Research at UC Davis Health. His specialties include Physical Medicine Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. With a focus on non-operative musculoskeletal sports medicine, Dr. Herman works with both elite athletes and weekend warriors, addressing joint, muscle, and nerve issues that prevent patients from achieving their functional lifestyle goals. His research interests are centered around sports injury prevention and rehabilitation, investigating the effects of concussion on neurocognitive performance and neuromuscular control as well as the role of headgear in athlete safety in girls' lacrosse. He is actively engaged in clinical research focused on the use of ultrasound guidance for knee geniculate nerve radiofrequency ablation outcomes.
