Biography

Daniel E. Ho is a Professor of Law and Political Science at Stanford University, holding courtesy appointments in Computer Science. He is a Senior Fellow at Stanford's Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence and the Institute for Economic Policy Research. Additionally, he is a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences and the Director of the Regulation, Evaluation, and Governance Lab (RegLab). Ho's contributions extend to national advisory roles, including serving on the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC) and as a Senior Advisor on Responsible AI for the U.S. Department of Labor. He has also served as a Public Member of the Administrative Conference of the United States (ACUS). Ho is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and his Ph.D. from Harvard University, and he clerked for Judge Stephen F. Williams on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
