Biography

Daniel J. Hopkins is a political scientist specializing in American politics with a focus on racial and ethnic politics, state and local politics, political behavior, political communication, and research methods. He holds a professorship in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, with a secondary appointment at the Annenberg School for Communication. Hopkins has authored over 40 scholarly articles and is the author of the book 'The Increasingly United States: American Political Behavior Nationalized' published by the University of Chicago Press in 2018. He is also a co-founder of the Philadelphia Behavioral Science Initiative and has served on the White House Social Behavioral Sciences Team for the City of New York. His research interests span various critical aspects of modern political behavior, emphasizing the interplay between citizens and political dynamics.
