Biography

Dr. Kim is a board-certified general critical care surgeon with clinical interests in trauma, surgical critical care, burns, and emergency elective general surgery. His research focuses on trauma burn resuscitation, inhalational injury, surgical infections, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. An Army veteran, Dr. Kim served four tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, and has a wealth of experience in both military and civilian medical practice. He completed his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and earned a Master's in Public Health from Columbia University. His surgical training includes a residency in general surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center and a fellowship in surgical critical care at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Kim is dedicated to educating future surgeons and serves as an instructor for the Advanced Trauma Life Support course.
