Biography

Daniel Lajeunesse holds a doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Montreal and completed his postdoctoral studies at the National Institutes of Health in Baltimore. He has been a full professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Montreal since 2005. From 2004 to 2013, he served as the Director of Graduate Studies in Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and was appointed Vice-Dean for Fundamental Sciences and Graduate Studies in 2013. Lajeunesse was also Associate Vice-Rector from 2017 to 2020 at the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Discovery, Creation, and Innovation (VRRDCI). An internationally recognized researcher, he has contributed to 88 scientific publications, 12 book chapters, and 200 presentation abstracts, in addition to numerous conferences. He has served on several peer review committees in Canada and abroad and supervised 27 Master's and Ph.D. students. Additionally, he led numerous committees for graduate student supervision.
