Dr. Daniel Langohr

Biography

Daniel Langohr is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University. He received his Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Applied Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and his PhD from Western University in Biomedical Engineering, where he specialized in tribology, design, and assessment of orthopedic implants. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Lawson Health Research Institute, focusing on the contact mechanics of the wrist. Langohr has also gained experience in industry, covering areas such as process engineering, manufacturing engineering, and predictive maintenance. His research interests focus on the design and analysis of orthopedic joint replacement implants, computational and in-vitro tribological assessments of interacting surfaces, as well as finite element analysis of mechanical and biological structures.
