Biography

Daniel Lidar is the holder of the Viterbi Professorship of Engineering at the University of Southern California and conducts research in quantum information processing. He holds joint appointments in the departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Chemistry, and Physics and Astronomy. Lidar is the Director of the USC Center for Quantum Information Science and Technology, the Director of the USC-IBM Quantum Innovation Center, and co-Director of the USC Center for Quantum Computing. He completed his postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley and received his Ph.D. in Physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1997. Before joining USC in 2005, he was a faculty member at the University of Toronto for five years.
