Biography

Daniel W. Linna Jr. holds joint appointments at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and McCormick School of Engineering as the Director of Law and Technology Initiatives and a Senior Lecturer. His teaching and research center on innovation in technology, computational law, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and operational leadership. He is an affiliated faculty member at CodeX — Stanford Center for Legal Informatics. Previously, Linna served as a Visiting Professor of Law at Michigan State University, and taught various legal courses at prominent institutions such as Bucerius Law School in Germany and IE Law School in Spain. He also taught at the University of Michigan Law School, focusing on negotiation and legal service delivery innovations. Linna started his career with a judicial clerkship at the U.S. Court of Appeals, later practicing law as a litigator and eventually becoming an equity partner at Honigman Miller Schwartz Cohn. He co-founded the Chicago Legal Innovation & Technology meetup in 2014 and was recognized as a Fastcase 50 honoree in 2015. He was inducted as a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management and named an ABA Journal Legal Rebel in 2018, contributing significantly to the intersection of law and technology.
