Biography

Daniel B. Listwa is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School and an attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz’s Litigation Department. He represents clients in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels, with a focus on complex commercial and corporate litigation. His representative cases include successful litigation for a leading Ethereum software developer against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and defense against a hostile takeover attempt of a major regional bank. He has also secured remedial constructive trusts on behalf of healthcare companies in trials before the Delaware Court of Chancery. Besides his litigation work, Daniel writes and speaks on issues related to statutory interpretation, conflict of laws, corporate law, and administrative law. His scholarship has been published in prestigious journals such as the Yale Law Journal and Texas Law Review, and he has been cited in trial and appellate courts as well as by federal agencies. He is a non-resident fellow at Yale Law School’s Center for Private Law. Daniel received his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as Articles & Essays Editor for the Yale Law Journal. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Felix S. Cohen Prize for Legal Philosophy. He also holds an M.A. with Class Honors in Philosophy and Public Affairs from University College Dublin as a George J. Mitchell Scholar and a B.A. summa cum laude in Philosophy-Economics from Columbia University.
